Back before the latest COVID spike in Greater Sydney (apparently that’s where we live), we were allowed in to Queensland. We wrote about travelling up to and back from Queensland in our last post.
Well, this post is about what we did in Queensland….
One of the main reasons for our trip to Queensland was to visit our brother Gus – Gus was born in the same litter as Scoot, and those two are just so similar and really get on well. Gus is a little bigger than Scoot, but Scoot is definitely in charge and better at wrestling (I trained her from when she was small and we practice most days).
Whilst we were there visiting Gus we went to the beach with him each morning, went on some long walks, we did some car trips with him, and even took him out for fish and chips. We all love swimming at the beach together, and love jumping through the waves.
Another reason for our visit was for our humans to visit their sister and brother in law, and celebrate a couple of birthdays and an early Christmas. They had a big party with a spit roast and a two piece band. We loved the music – Gus helped the kids find some musical instruments to play along with the band, and I lay in front of the band for quite some time just listening to the music. I also went under the spit and licked up some of the fat from the meat that was cooking and coming through a small hole in the bottom of the roasting oven. Unfortunately I manage to get the fat all through my coat, so my human had to take me in to the shower with her and shampoo all my hair before I could go to bed.
Scoot and Gus weren’t allowed to play chasings during the party as there were too many people, so Scoot did get in trouble a couple of times as she kept trying to start chasing games.
We met a new person whilst we were in Queensland called Santa. He was in a shopping centre and was driving a blue buggy. He had a red hat, a long white beard, a red coat, and he wasn’t wearing any pants that we could see! Our human said he was probably wearing budgy smugglers, but we are not sure what they are.
We went to visit our human’s Mum who lives in a very nice place with lots of other older people. She loves our visits and we dogs are allowed in, and we also go around and talk to other people whilst we were there. We had our photo taken with our human’s Mum in front of a fireplace with socks hanging on it – very strange as it was right in the middle of summer.
We also took our human’s Mum to the shops, to dinner, and to the party. She enjoyed these outings as apparently due to this thing called COVID, they haven’t been out much lately.
These were just some of the things we did on our trip, it was a wonderful time and Queensland has lots of interesting places to go and things to do for dogs. We highly recommend Queensland for when we are allowed back in again.
