Over the last few months, one of our humans has been at home quite a lot. She still seems very busy as she sits in front of a screen tapping most of the day, and then talks in to the screen and it talks back.
It can’t be much good only having a screen to talk to, so we hang around and make sure she has some company – at least on the days we don’t go to work with our other human, but we’ll tell you about that in another blog.
Our humans have been talking about something called Covid, and when they turn on their talking box, it talks about Covid as well. Now when they go out in the car sometimes they put a blue thing over their face, and they keep rubbing their hands with something that smells and tastes terrible for dogs. We definitely don’t want to lick their hands when they have been rubbing them with this stuff!
At first when our human started staying home she got up early in the morning and took us for really long walks, it was amazing. Now it is too cold, so we all stay in bed together and our other human brings in coffee and toast which we all share on the bed (just the toast, we don’t drink coffee).
The human that is staying home bought this very strange machine that she stands on then moves her arms and legs backwards and forwards and it also goes up and down. It makes quite a lot of noise so we bark at the machine when she is on it just in case.
It is quite a big responsibility keeping our human company, so we find we have to sleep a lot, with a few short games of tug-o-war between sleeps to keep us on the ball.
It is a very interesting time, but we must admit that we like having our humans around so much more than before even though we are not eating out as much or going on as many holidays.
We would recommend to other dogs that it is important to keep your humans company at this time, and to try to entertain them as much as possible. Enjoy the fact that you are seeing much more of them, and encourage them to exercise, play and just pat you so they keep feeling good and happy.
Stay safe and well
